About
Mary Ashley is a Professor in Biological Sciences with expertise in ecological genetics and conservation biology. She has over 90 peer-reviewed publications in her field. She has extensive experience with graduate and undergraduate training and promoting participation of women and minorities in science. Professor Ashley has been awarded a teaching recognition award, an LAS Faculty Service Award, A Graduate Mentoring Award, and was named UIC Woman of the Year in 2012. She was previously PI on an NSF IGERT Doctoral training grant called LEAP (Landscape, Ecological, and Anthropogenic Processes), a multidisciplinary training program focused on understanding ecological processes in human-dominated landscapes. Dr. Ashley is the Principal investigator of CIM²AS.
